Course curriculum overview
The medical billing training course gives you a broad understanding of health insurance, along with specific knowledge on legal and regulatory issues, and a variety of reimbursement methodologies to ensure you can accurately prepare, submit, and follow up on medical claims. You will learn how to use three major coding manuals: CPT®, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II.
The course provides hands-on practice with real-world, redacted medical records, and assures you have the proper qualifications to do medical billing for physician's offices, clinics, insurance carriers, and other types of healthcare facilities. Upon course completion, you will be prepared to take AAPC's CPB certification exam.

Experience requirements

To maintain your credential, you must maintain your AAPC annual membership, and earn 36 continuing education units (CEUs) every two years.
